Freshly Prepped
Designed by Patricia Fox
A very contemporary version of a kitchen garden, somewhere to entertain, chill, grow and prepare food - but all within a new kind of space - an outdoor kitchen with a twist.
"I have so wanted to do Chelsea for the last 2 years! The RHS turned me down for 2007 and I sulked hard for a year, but then decided to have another go. Over the last couple of years we have been more and more frequently asked to include kitchen gardens in our designs.
I hope that this garden will inspire more people to grow their own, it not only tastes fantastic but it can look amazing as well."
I love the ideas behind this garden and the unusual 'take' on a kitchen garden. It looks far less highbrow than most kitchen garden designs that are seen at Chelsea and therefore, more easily interpreted into most peoples gardens.
Well done.
This garden has all the answers for people wanting a garden which fulfills their aspirations towards production plus satisfaction and enjoyment. I rate it much higher than that awarded by the 'honourable committee'.
i love this idea of using the space to creatively think about what you can grow to eat from and in your own back garden!
What a fantastic idea. To be able to pick, wash and prepare your meals outdoors - wonderful. It looks stunning too, congratulations.
I think that the whole concept of this garden is inspirational. I loved the wall.
Brilliant
I think it is a brilliant idea to further blur the home / garden divide. I know grow your own is enjoying something of a fashionable revival, but the idea of vertical use of space for edible planting is genius. Greening the city, and garden rooms, - all of this is the way forward.

I revisited the show today - there were so many aspects I had failed to see the first time - and I was drawn back to this garden. Something about it is captivating, maybe it's the beautiful metal structure that you can see from quite a distance, that seems to frame it so perfectly - I wish I could have a smaller version! Or maybe it is simply the exquisite beauty of the wall of plants - I couldn't believe they were all edible. Quite simply inspirational.
