Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Chitty comes to Bradford!

"An incredible performance!"

Richard and Daniel have been to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Alhambra in Bradford and give it a big 'thumbs up'! This is what they have to say...

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was an incredible performance at the Alhambra theatre in Bradford: the cast didn't put a foot wrong!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

"Thumbs up all round!"

One of the best things about this musical was the scenery. The amount of effort that went into the making of the scenery was incredible, especially the windmill where the twins, Jeremy and Jemima, live. It was also amazing how most of the props came on and off without the assistance of any floor managers.

Another great thing was how the actors managed to interact with the crowd when they needed to;Ìýalso, how the expressions on their faces and the way they talked showed exactly what they were feeling.

Caractacus Potts who is the father, played by Kevin Kennedy, was especially good and he was the heart and soul of the musical. Grandpa, played by Tony Adams, delivered many funny jokes and really acted the part.

"A must see!"

The orchestra was relatively small but still made a tremendous impact on the musical. The percussionists played a major part along with the brass section in the overall experience of the musical. The car – 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' - was absolutely wonderful, the way it was manoeuvred in the air was ingenious. This was because when the car was moving all the stage lights dimmed, apart from the ones on the car, so you could not see the mechanisms working underneath.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the best musical we have ever seen and the songs will stay with us forever - a must-see for all the family. No matter what age you are, you will be entertained throughout. Thumbs up all round for this classic number!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang runs at the Bradford Alhambra until Saturday 5th April, 2008. For more details, visit the Alhambra website
