Should Virginia Tech have done more?
We're off air now. But carry on posting your comments on the blog and keep the debate going.
Welcome to the WHYS Daily Email to Thabit in Kampala, Jon in Kentucky, Rashid in Kuala Lumpur and Lynne in Portugal.
Now if Paul from the WHYS team had his way, the subject of this post would be 'are we prejudiced against blonde people?' He's convinced this is a major talking point, but unfortunately most of us weren't. He'd be very happy for you to put us right.
Here are the stories that have made it....
VIRGINIA TECH
I'm sure most of you have seen in the news. A report into the massacre has concluded that lives could have been saved if officials at the university had moved faster. Is that fair? Is that constructive as the university continues to try and get back to normality.
THE STORY OR MARIA AMIN
Maria from the neck down by an Israeli rocket attack in May 2006. The missile killed a leader of the armed Islamic Jihad movement. WHYS regular Lubna in Iraq emailed earlier this week suggesting we talk about her.
The Israeli authorities are helping fund her rehabilitation but would like her to be moved to a Palestinian hospital, something her home at the moment, a Jerusalem hospital, doesn't want to happen. Her case has prompted widespread comment and discussion and we'll hear some of that today.
COULD WE HAVE AVOIDED THE DEATHS OF THREE FOOTBALLERS?
Chaswe Nsofwa, a former Zambia international, Spanish international Antonio Puerta and Anton Reid, a youth team player in England, from heart problems. Another player in England collapsed this week with a serious heart problem and is still in hospital. It's raised questions about whether football, and sport in general, is doing enough to monitor the health of its players. Or are these three terrible premature deaths that mirror many more that get little to no attention in the international media.
RICH PUP
David wanted to talk with you about Leona Helmsley leaving millions to her dog, but strangely the energy in my fingers seems to be seeping away. .
Speak to you later.
