Can birth control help stop global warming?

Ros Atkins Ros Atkins | 15:30 UK time, Tuesday, 24 July 2007

If you'd like me to send you details of our talking points each day, email me and I'll add you to the WHYS Daily Email.

Yesterday on the show we spoke to Prof Chris Rapley. He's head of the British Antartic Survey and soon to be head of the Science Museum in London. He knows a great deal about global warming and its effects.

The argument of his that has ruffled a few feathers is his claim . The more people, the more consumption goes the theory. Slow the population and we'll reduce our carbon output.

He's taking your calls today. If you want to speak to him or leave a comment for him, get in touch.

TALKING TO CUBA
This one isn't a definite yet but we're working hard to make it happen. We're hoping to speak to the daughter of a Cuban man incarcerated in America for spying on the US. You can talk to her about her mother's visits to see him, about his case and also the relationship between America and Cuba. We very rarely get to speak to people live from Cuba - we'll see if this one comes off.

LIFE IN ZIMBABWE
Robert Mugabe is opening the Zimbabwean parliament in Harare today. It's prompted another raft of looking at what is happening there. If you'd like to comment on the situation in Zimbabwe, or have first-hand accounts you want to share, please get in touch.

ALI IN KUWAIT - THE DEBATE GOES ON
This post has taken on a life of its own. If you've not seen it Ali runs us through 14 things that are good about life in an Islamic state. We're heading towards a hundred responses.

Speak to you later.
