The first was the claim by John, a caller from New York, that half of those accused of carrying out the 9/11 attacks have since been found alive and well. He said he'd even seen a 91Èȱ¬ programme making such a claim. I replied I wasn't sure about that.

We soon got an email from Summer Spikerman with a link to a published two days after the attacks. It confirms that 'Another of the men named by the FBI as a hijacker in the suicide attacks on Washington and New York has turned up alive and well. The identities of four of the 19 suspects accused of having carried out the attacks are now in doubt.' Though obviously not exactly what John was claiming, it’s possible it may be have what he was refering to.

The other issue was raised by another caller from New York called Pam. She told us how she was in Manhattan on the day of the attacks and has experienced extensive health problems since. About thirty minutes into the programme, her sister Tracey also called in. Both wanted to raise awareness of where Pam has been treated and urged people to visit the website.

At that point, Mike, who was joining us using VOIP from Amsterdam, claimed that the centre was funded by and should be avoided. (Tracey had mentioned that the film star and known Scientologist had donated a great deal of money to the centre). I was keen for our conversation to stay with 9/11 so intervened and cut Mike off more sharply than I meant to. In hindsight, it was a conversation that I would like to have heard.
