Councils and schools use Twitter and texts to give snow updates
The current cold snap has seen some interesting changes in the way local councils and schools keep people posted about changes due to the weather.
It all started on Friday when -user Denbighshire council [] sent their first flurry of tweets announcing school closures. []

Flintshire council's was busy too.
On Sunday, their website was updated announcing Monday's closure of Saltney Wood Memorial Primary School [, according to the Leader].
And, in turn, this updated their Twitter account [], giving plenty of notice to any families using the social media site.
More and more schools seem to be using Twitter as a way of keeping parents and students in touch.
