The makings of a horror movie
A film crew of people from around north Wales and beyond is preparing to move their cast to a dramatic location on a remote and isolated Scottish island to start shooting their homage to cult horror films of the 70s.
The cast and crew has largely come together because of their shared interest in film-making as well as using social media website to spread the word.
The story, Wraith Island, was conceived and written by director Marc Brimfield who approached his friend, producer Tim Cowell, with the idea following their first collaboration on a TV pilot production called , filmed in Wrexham.
Says Tim from Wrexham: "The project quickly snowballed into a multi-talented media crew and has gained a lot of interest in the north Wales area."
The premise of the story:
Six people go on a weekend break on an abandoned island that holds a dark secret. It is home to a or spirit of a vengeful pirate named Captain Blackthorn who slaughters anyone who ventures on to the island to keep safe his hidden treasure.
