Oi! Pick up your rubbish!
Further to last night's Panorama programme - about how Britain has become one big rubbish tip - today's echoes the findings of the episode, and says that our local authorities will not be taking a tough stand on people who leave mess in their wake.
It seems litter is something we all hate with no shortage of stories and complaints about the issue [Google News search tag ] so why is it such a problem and why do so many people do it?
One suggestion that came out of last night's programme was to reintroduce the deposit scheme on bottles etc - a good idea?
Or what about the other idea - already employed in some places: Introduce a public address system in our town centres where CCTV operators were able to call to litter bugs to pick up their discarded chip wrappers and cigarette butts.
