Go! Go! Sportacus, my hero!
I never thought I'd say it but a man in a tight fitting aerobics outfit has become something of a hero of mine. If you're a parent of young kids you probably already know about Sportacus, the good guy in so-called on the bbc.co.uk/cbeebies children's TV channel.
Well, Magnús Scheving, the man who plays the character - and creator of the show - is coming to Wrexham on Thursday to give a speech - because he's become something of an authority when it comes to promoting good health for kids.
Sportacus is loved in our house because he and other members of the kids' show basically dance and prance about the place - so my kids love him - but he's indirectly encouraging them to exercise. And he gets them to eat 'sports candy', aka fruit and veg - so I love him too!
Anyway, he's here for a convention organised by the discussing children's TV at .
I was reading in one of the London national newspapers recently that back in Magnús' native Iceland he's been praised for practically single-handedly reducing childhood obesity due to the programme's success.
Anything that gets our kids running around is fine by me. What tips and tricks do you use to keep your kids healthy - or are you finding it difficult?
PS. Croeso i Gymru, Magnús! [Welcome to Wales]
