In last week's blog entry I asked you to comment on certain aspects of our football coverage on the 91Èȱ¬ Sport website.

The response was brilliant - so thanks for all the constructive replies. It was good to read the compliments but also to take proper notice of a few criticisms.

Here are 10 main points:

With a song in our heart

Roger Mosey | 16:14 UK time, Saturday, 15 July 2006

One World Cup's over and another one takes place in Spring next year: , for which we have live radio coverage and television highlights - marking the return of cricket to 91Èȱ¬ tv for the first time since 1999. The planning's now well underway, and one of the things we were kicking around in the office this week was what the theme music should be. And it plays into a wider discussion we've been having about 91Èȱ¬ Sport and music...

Eyes glued to two screens

I'm sitting in the office today with one eye on the live TV coverage of the Tour, one eye on the work I'm trying to do and a third eye attempting to look at Google Earth. My jaw is slowly dropping onto the desk as a result.

A while ago I talked about the amazing route guide that has been done for the Earth application. As soon as the race starts the author added in .

Today, as the first mountain stage begins, it's really coming into its own as riders are attacking and being dropped off the back of the bunch and of course the terrain is more interesting.

All the World Cup ratings are now in, and we have the provisional overnight numbers for the Final. They show the audience chose the 91Èȱ¬ by a big margin:

At 7pm the 91Èȱ¬ One had 11.3m viewers, while ITV1 had 2.3m
At 8pm 91Èȱ¬ 13.5m; ITV 2.4m
At 9pm 91Èȱ¬ 15.1m; ITV 3.0m
At 9.30pm 91Èȱ¬ 17.0m; ITV 3.5m

So a few quick thoughts...

I hate football!

Howard Nurse | 23:05 UK time, Saturday, 1 July 2006

After England crashed out of the World Cup, I declared that football was no longer the game for me.

I'd spent more than a year planning the World Cup editorial coverage for the 91Èȱ¬ Sport website and to watch England go out on penalties yet again was a huge disappointment.

So how did we handle the pressure back at the website nerve centre?
