7th November - Back in the Office
I am not actually Becky but the hired hand for the week, as Maria and JP are both on holiday. As Fi mentioned on Saturday, we are all currently in Blog School and a man is coming back in six weeks time to assess how we are doing. To be frank we are a class of mixed abilty and I really mean mixed, but remembering there is no "I" in team we are aiming to pull together to keep this blog going.
I have spent part of today going through all your emails and I couldn't believe how many of you were living on a diet of "road kill". I enjoyed all your various culinary tips on the best ways to eat rabbits, squirrel and even rat - though there were a few comments that made me feel like someone who has spent far too many years living in a city. I was also slightly taken aback by the number of life long vegetarians who had been prompted to start eating meat by our report. Life is strange at times.
Tomorrow we start the serious business of planning this Saturday's programme. I keep trying to persuade Fi and the team to do something on trying to get the nation to pause for a minute and appreciate what's around them. This was prompted by a cycle ride I had in to work the other day. It was a classic autumn day and the sky looked magnificent and as there are quite a few traffic lights between here and home and I do stop at the lights, I had plenty of time to reflect on the beauty above. I came in feeling inspired and suggested to a bus travelling colleague that they should take a deep breath and look up at the sky as all tension would immediately go. I think they felt rather differently as they haven't spoken to me since, but I still think there is something in it.
Now I better get back to what I should be doing or I'll be trouble. Keep blogging.
7-XI-2006 was Election Day in Florida. This morning, Republicans and Democrats used public transportation so that their supporters could vote. There were also signs of the Reform Party. I took photos and turned them to the 91热爆 Bureau in Miami Florida. Right now, people are asking the question of who will be winning.
Complain about this postRight now, there were some victories from the Libertarian Party.
For me, the biggest winner was the 91热爆 for its superb reporting. Regardless, there has to be a profound change in which ALL Political Parties Except for those that preach violence and hatred must be allowed to participate in the political process without restrictions.
Complain about this postHi Becky-stand-in,
There may not be an "I" in team, but there is "me" all messed up. Sometimes you just have to look after yourself.
Keep looking up, breathing in and stopping at traffic lights. It's a philosphy that even Sue Perkins could sign up to.
