Hugh reported for us last night and sends these snaps
"from Israel/TOT (The Occupied Territories)....
Shaul Goldstein, mayor of the settlement block Gush Etzyon.
Najib abu Rokaya, Arab-Israeli human rights worker.
Jewish boy hanging out up 'the Lone Tree' in Gush Etzyon settlement
Arab boys hanging out in East Jerusalem.
Arab boy from a refugee camp selling chewing gum to bus passengers at Qalandia chekpoint.
The wall. East Jerusalem is not almost entirely separated from the rest of the West Bank by the wall. And it IS a wall. The Israelis prefer us to call it 'the separation barrier', but where most people see it it is a wall. It is a fence mostly out in unpopulated areas. Many Israelis also hate this wall - they say it cuts them off from Biblical Israel.
A watchtower on the, er, wall."

braving the storm of 502s to say HUGH IS THE GREATEST!

Three times Ed? You certainly were impressed. Me too, but I think I'll only say so once...
What, you were only impressed enough to attempt one post tonight, Ed? :)
(Lame excuse to do a "Is the blog still bloggered?" test)
And my single attempt, while successful at first seems to have sunk beneath a wave of blogsam...

Oh dear Ed (6), for 'blogsam' I read 'blorgasm'. Where's my head???
Neither would do for scrabble. Another?

So the Annapolis Conference has already sunk beneath the waves....appropriately for a non-event.
Anyone who wants to know how much of a non-event, should read the "Road Map"
and the Israeli "reservations":
../roadmapreservations.htm
And, if anyone, having read these documents can tell me how any self-respecting Palestinian could acquiesce, I'd be glad to read your persuasive best.

Excellent coverage of the Wall. It is such a horrible problem for those having to suffer behind it, and yet despite international condemnation, terrorism, public protest, sabotage, the Israeli government seems to continue with haste their construction of an illegal border (as the Wall snakes well into Palestinian Territories by 1967 boundaries).
