Fresh-faced Eddie Mair

A fresh-faced Eddie Mair, whose head is in fact larger than a microphone, will be looking back over the last year on iPM in tonight's show.

We've been arguing over what to include and what to leave out, food was thrown, producers stormed out, tempers are frayed. But a shortened version of 'The Yes/No Challenge for Politicians' did make it in, which IS very funny. You can listen to the full item here if you so fancy it.

Join Eddie at 5.30pm if you can still move from the sofa...

Matt and Ray

Matt Dann is just 18 years old, and a quietly spoken teenager, but he has a list of achievements that belies his young age.

He's the coxswain of a lifeboat, and has also recently been doing land rescues for people stuck by the floods. As a trained medic he's just become a community first responder, responsible for getting to the scene of an accident if an ambulance is too far away.

He says "it does have the moments where it makes your hair stand up on the back of your neck".

Matt does all this in his spare time with a youth group called who've nominated him for an iPM Honour.

Ray Furlong (grinning above right) went to meet him and his shipmates, listen to the result (5.29 mins):

If you'd like to nominate someone for an iPM New Year Honour - drop us a line before midnight tonight.

Elizabeth Bartlett talking about her support group

One of the first nominees put forward for the iPM New Year Honour is Elizabeth Bartlett who featured on Saturdays programme. She runs a memory support group for people with dementia.

Elizabeth has been nominated by Rose, her husband has dementia. "Folded up in her arms" is how she describes meeting Elizabeth.

Our reporter Ray Furlong went to one of their last sessions before Christmas, listen to his piece (5.14 mins)
