"..it astonishes me to hear the apologists for Roman Polanski...Polanski may have our sympathy but he also committed an abusive act and that has to be accounted for, otherwise the law to protect children from sexual predators means nothing."

Lord Mandelson obviously thinks adopting is a good one. But does the underdog ALWAYS get our support? And when does an underdog become a lame duck anyway...
Are you someone who's been in that underdog position and triumphed or failed miserably? Maybe you continue to support an underdog and are always disappointed? Drop us a line.
What else am I on about today? Yes....if you have other tales of going to Uni..feel free to share them here. Alternatively, just look at Mr Mantovani and remember him.
This week's iPM is weathertastic. Thanks for all the great weather ideas...and as you'll hear on the programme, changes may be coming!
Our iPM podcast has something exclusive and weathertastic right after the end of the show...so why not subscribe now? That way it'll be easy to keep up with us when we are on in the early mornings from next week.
Is there a bee in your bonnet you'd like iPM to take a look at? Whether it's an issue you've heard discussed on the news or an original thought based on your own experiences, please do get in touch. You can email ipm@bbc.co.uk or us.
You can also suggest a single sentence telling us what's been news in your life for our "your news" segment.
Your stories are the stuff out of which iPM is made. This week, PM Listener Julie emailed in to say, "I try to listen to the radio weather forecast but find my attention drifting away so I often miss our region. Should I switch to tv forecasts?"
We asked if Julie was alone in this, and a hailstorm (with sunny patches) of comments followed. We broadcast comments from listeners Paula Walker, Roy Freeman, John Oats, Luke Ritchie, Gareth Jameson, Janice Betson, John Saunders, Jill Makinson-Sanders, Isabelle Devereux, Gloria Calloway, Matthew Bentley, Mary Jane and Justin Gray, but the final word went to listener Denis McKeown who is a cognitive psychologist researching auditory memory at the University of Leeds.
