WORD 2

word of the day..

Maladroit. meaning, clumsy, awkward, bungling, inept.

my attempts at trying to cook a risotto with peas this evening were maladroit to say the least. The finished product looked like it had been regurgitated. Oh well.

On a nicer note, we've got Bloc Party in the minimix this week! Whoo hoo!!!! Click to go and check out their vodcast and download their stuff...

keep the words coming in! Thank you for putting forward 'Cobblers' Gilbert... I wonder where that came from..'a load of old cobblers...'?

    Hi Annie,
You cant beat Antidisestablishmentarianism for a random word!
Apperantly its the longest word in the English Language and means standing against the removal of the Church of England as the state Church in the 19th Century (thank you wikipedia...)
    Loving the show(s)

Antidistablishmentarianism is pretty much a legend. Try saying that one after a night on the lash. It's almost as hard as walking....

My personal fave is nipperkin, a small cup. Secondary english taught me one thing.

The site dictionary.com does a random word of the day. It can email it and everything! The joy of modern technology.

Keep up the shows, will be listening on Friday!

    Muchos Love x

    Hey Annie Mac:

    You're welcome for the heads-up on Dictionary.com - it's a cool site.

And... Ben's looooooooong word was interesting, and made me think "What is the longest word?"

And... I have no idea. But... what about:

    supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

now that is a long word, which I believe means, "to make one feel better through song." who knows? but a fun word non-the-less.

And... of course their is Prince's version of the word:

    superfunkycalifragisexy!

Anyways, as Annie Mac would say (and a word she knows quite well) the words I used tonight are fun, but just plan "Ridiculous!" Ha, ha, ha.... words are fun.

    Stay fugly - Scott

    Hi Annie,
here's a word that you can see if you can shoehorn into your show -
    defenestrate

Rather tempted to make you look it up, but I'm in a good mood so -
    Verb
throw through or out of the window

looking forward to some more Bloc Party, keep up the good work

Risotto, really not difficult, but it needs a bit of effort. Here's a few pointers.
    *Use proper Italian Risotto rice
*Use lots of butter for the initial onion fry
*Keep sitrring all the time until all the stock is used up and rice is done properlyn(20-25 minutes)
*It's always best to make your own stock. If your a vegetarian Swiss Vegetable Bullion is a good alternative.
*Fresh Parmesan at the end is a must (proper Risotto is a high calorie comfort food!)
*Serve with a nice, crisp, green salad - with a balsamic vinegar dressing. The contrast between the gooiness (it's meant to look like that) and the crisp salad should be a delight!
