I was fascinated by the political and satirical themes shown within the work of artist William Hogarth. This led me to investigate how I could design a fashion garment in order to spread my own political message. I used elements from Surrealist design such as: the black and white contrasting shades, to create an optical illusion; the exaggerated lapel; the juxtaposition of the entirely contrasted two halves of the dress; as well as sewing one half inside-out.
