On 15
February 1913, just before the first World War, Sir Barry Jackson
opened the Birmingham Repertory Theatre on Station Street.The company
then moved into its purpose-built theatre complex on Broad Street,
adjacent to the International Convention Centre and Symphony Hall,
in 1971.
Facilities for people with disabilities include wheelchair access
to the foyer, Box Office, cloakroom, bar, kiosk and toilets. The Main
House has eight spaces on the ground floor for wheelcahirs and two
on the first floor. The Door has two spaces available.
By
Road
The Rep is at the heart of Birmingham, next to the International Convention
Centre in Centenary Square. Several car parks are situated close to
the theatre at Brindleyplace, NIA, Civic Centre and Brunel Street.
By Rail
There are 3 railway stations within easy walking distance of the theatre.
New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill.
By Bus
There are many buses travelling along Broad Street within a short
distance of the theatre. |
