Birmingham Carnival

Thousands of spectators are expected to line the streets to watch troops of dancers dressed in stunning costumes dancing along to the calypso beats of the Caribbean.

The carnival procession

The mardi-gras street procession includes decorated floats, steel bands and carnival troupes from all over the UK and will be led by this year鈥檚 carnival queen.

The procession starts at 1pm from Handsworth Park and will end at Perry Park approximately 3.30pm where the carnival party will continue until 9.00pm.

In Perry Park there'll be a vibrant mix of live on and off stage entertainment, competitions, stalls selling Caribbean food and crafts and a funfair.

Birmingham Carnival brings the city鈥檚 communities together and is a day for the whole family to enjoy.

Getting to the carnival

Due to the volume of people and vehicle restriction zones around Perry Park and the carnival route people are encouraged to take public transport to the event.

There鈥檚 a direct train and bus service to Handsworth and Perry Park. Visit Network West Midlands for more information:
