Getting Spotted

Sixty eight year old Mr Nawaz acts as a professional lookalike as one of Bollywoods greatest stars - Amitabh Bachan.

Mr Nawaz says that his friends and family had always said to him that he looked similar to Amitabh Bachan. But it was at a charity event that he was first spotted. Mr Nawaz says has been working as a lookalike for nearly two months and has been getting lots of reaction,

"Anywhere I go, people stop to look at me. I was in London last week and a group of girls asked for my autograph. My manager handed over a business card which said I was a lookalike. The girls couldn鈥檛 believe it, they were shocked as they thought I was the real thing."

Mr Nawaz describes an experience that he had whilst he was in Pakistan.

"I went to Islamabad airport and a lady came to me and said she wanted a picture. After a few moments a huge queue started forming and I was overwhelmed with the response."

Mr Nawaz says that the real life Amitabh Bachan is a hero of his.
"I love watching his films, I remember some of the dialogues from them and one of my favourites is a film called Silsala."

Mr Nawaz says that he loves being treated like a celebrity , he is now planning to learn some dance moves so that he can really get into Amitabh鈥檚 character. Mr Nawaz currently works for a web based company called bollywoodlookalikes.co.uk. It currently has two top Bollywood actors on its books. Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachan.
