Get involved with the 91Èȱ¬ WM Kidney Kids Appeal by organising your own fundraising events and help make a difference in the lives of young people.

The 91Èȱ¬ WM Kidney Kids appeal hopes to help raise £1.5 million for a new kidney unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The Unit treats children with a range of kidney problems, and 1500 young patients visit the nephrology (kidney) department every year to receive dialysis, and other treatments, including transplants.

Whether you do something fun at school, at work, local community or youth group, you can help make a positive change in the lives of young people at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Kidney Unit.

It’s a year long campaign so there’s plenty of time to come up with some exciting ideas!

Join team Blind Dave

Blind Dave will be doing his bit for the campaign by running the Birmingham Half Marathon. If you want to join him raising money for Kidney Kids in Team Blind Dave, email teamblinddave@kidneykids.co.uk

Here are a few ideas to help you get started

  • Sponsored sit still - the children on a kidney dialysis have to sit for 4 hours, get sponsored to do the same.
  • Sport Tournament - Pick your favourite sport and take on another local community group for a small fee
  • Coffee Morning – bake some homemade cakes and biscuits for sale
  • Car Boot SaleÌý - Ask your friends for any old stuff
  • Concert – Put a concert together in aid of the appeal get all the local talent in your community to perform at a concert and charge an entrance
  • Non Uniform Day ( at school or work )Ìý - Dress Up or Dress Down
  • Family Fun Day - Face painting and Games
  • Join an existing fundraising event and make 91Èȱ¬ WM Kidney Kids Appeal your nominated charity.

Put up your posters let people know what you’ve got planned and raise as much as you can!

Ask your local shop, library, supermarket and even your local hairdresser to display them. Get advertising and spread the word about your event - by word-of-mouth, a group text or email... anyway you can think of.

We have a football match arranged against the Aston Villa 'Old Stars' on 28th June at Landrover Sports & Social club, Billsmore Green, Solihull. Bouncy Castle, food, icecream and car wash with proceeds to Kidney Kids. All welcome from 1pm.

Birmingham Irish Cycle Appeal 2009
Launch Night on Sat 9th May at 'The emerald Club' Bordesley Green, B'ham. Charity Cycle Ride from Birmingham to Sleive League, Ireland (over 500 miles) intending to raise similar to last year's efforts of £48,000. come and join us £4 entry at door. 8pm onwards. thanks
