A ceremony will mark the unveiling of his 'Walk Of Stars' brass star on Broad Street. Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will be the first person to be honoured on Birmingham's new Walk of Stars. His handmade brass star will be the first of a trail of stars along the pavement of Broad Street, in the city centre. ![]() Ozzy Osbourne Ozzy will be presented with the honour by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Randal Brew. The ceremony is due to take place on stage at Centenary Square at 4pm on Friday 6th July. "I have a star in Hollywood but having a star in my home town means so much more to me," Ozzy told 91热爆 News Online. After the induction, on the same day, Ozzy will be in concert at the National Indoor Arena. Birmingham's next star?On the Birmingham Walk of Stars website the public can vote for, and nominate, the stars that they'd like to be honoured on Broad Street. ![]() UB40 in concert At the time of writing pop band UB40 are in the lead with 33668 votes cast, Duran Duran are next with 24647 votes and Sir Cliff Richard OBE is in third place with 15327 votes. Other nominated stars include; Cat Deeley, Tony Hancock and Lenny Henry. The criteria for nomination is that the famous person must be originally from the Midlands area or performed, played or attended in an official capacity one of Birmingham's major venues.
