'We're bitterly disappointed'

Reactions from Reading FC chair John Madesjki, manager Steve Coppell, Glen Little and emotional fans after Reading's relegation heartbreak on Sunday 11 May 2008.

Reading have been relegated. They played their part up at Derby - winning 0 - 4 but were let down by the final score down at Fratton Park where Fulham scored against Portsmouth.

"I feel robbed, I feel cheated, I feel bitter. I waited a long time to get into the Premier League."

At the post-match press conference a downbeat Steve Coppell said: "Three points here today - I had a feeling it would be enough.

"At the end of it all you've got to give huge respect to Roy Grant and Fulham, they had to go there and get a result and that is to their credit.

"We're obviously bitterly disappointed听 - that's an understatement - the dressing room is a very sad place at the moment, and it's difficult to know what to say to ease their pain.

"There's no comfort in words at the moment, it's just a bit of a numb feeling. We've brought some good stuff to the Premiership - it's just a shame it ended that way."

"Keep the faith and we'll be back."

"I feel robbed, I feel cheated, I feel bitter. I waited a long time to get into the Premier League."
