Libor Spacek | Rich Hempson-Jones - vocals + guitar Chris Bewick - bass + vocals Dave Guthrie - drums |
Although all originally from Reading, Libor Spacek met in late 2002 whilst studying in Bath. Primarily they made music which they liked and it soon became apparent that other people liked it too. Early gigs, which arose as a result of rough bedroom recordings, went down well and this feedback had a great impact on the motivation of the band.Ìý Practising in a small room on campus with sweat dripping from the ceiling, the band molded and tweaked their songs in preparation for recording their first studio demo, Room To Breathe in late 2003. The 200 self-manufactured copies were received well and there is now only one copy left which sits in the CD rack in the Libor Spacek sitting room. The accompanying button badges and live performances also went down well, with the band receiving a string of positive reviews and repeated local radio exposure. Highlights of the year included the launch of liborspacek.co.uk and support slots for both One Minute Silence and Capdown. In early 2004 the band took some time out to write new songs and added pianos and glockenspiels to their already diverse catalogue of sounds. The improved live show was once again received well and the year was concluded with the release of the second demo, A Series Of Instructions, which was recorded as a result of winning a local battle of the bands competition. Libor Spacek are currently writing and recording new material and looking for management. |
