My grandad Kenneth Curley sent messages to his parents on discs such as this between 1942 and 1946 while in the RAF as a volunteer reserve in India.
The family has a small collection of these old metal discs. Along with thousands of other servicemen in the Second World War, he used these voice recordings to send greetings home to loved ones.
I was given these recordings by my grandma. Unfortunately we don't have a player to play the message on our recrodings, so I have never been able to play them and don't know what the messages are.
