I bought 3 of those heads, 30 years ago in India from a kind of beggar, who could not speak a single word of english.
He tried to open a shop near the hotel we were (India somewhere in the region of Jaipour, Jodpour) . He had several big black plastic sacs with similar staff, which he displayed pêle mêle on the ground.
The stuff ranked from kids stuff (toys similar to old egyptian play chariots) to more decorative things, such as those supposely walking sticks heads which I finally bought.
All the stuff was totally oxidised and semmed to come from the same source.
Back home I washed the heads and mounted them on walking sticks. I always wandered whether somebody could tell me more about those heads.
