A public taxi of the late 18th Century; Sedan Chair number 68 was registered with the Bath Corporation. It transported wealthier members of Bath society to concerts at the Assembly Rooms, continuing as a form of transport until the mid 19th Century when it was superseded by the 'Bath Chair'. This Sedan Chair is a wonder; in existence for more than 200 years, surviving many major events such as the bombing of Bath in 1942.
