Iron horseshoe, discovered at the Beer Quarry Caves site in Devon in 2007, believed to be the oldest horseshoe found in the West Country. Possible remnant of a period when 80 horse drawn wagons were employed at the quarry, hauling stone.

Though this horseshoe is some 600 years old I have an older shoe being a Celtic horseshoe which would be about up to 2000 years old. This shoe has been verified by the Reading Museum of Agriculture. As I am a farrier it is very dear to me .
