I bought this bus bonnet plate at an auction. It came from an open staircase red London bus. The bus was scrapped in 1949. The LT19 was first allocated to Nunhead and last allocated to Mortlake. All buses had similar plates on the front engine half cabs. Each bus was allocated a class by letter and a number - the individual vehicle number. There were 1,437 in the LT class. These buses had a 20 year life which was very good in those days.
