The Hunterian Museum has an important collection of facsimile paintings of Egyptian tomb scenes made by the Rev. Colin Campbell, an alumnus of the University of Glasgow, in the early 1900s.
The curator asked members of staff from the University of Glasgow, who work with the collections, to nominate their favourite object for the 91Èȱ¬'s "A History of the World" website. This object was picked by Dr Angela McDonald, Creativity Culture and Faith University Teacher (Ancient Studies). Angela says "I love this little detail from a much larger, busy scene from the tomb of Menna painted by Rev. Colin Campbell. Shown on a much smaller scale than other more important workers, two servants take a break in the shade of a tree".
