A gnarled, knotted oak burr reveals an intricately painted, lacquered snuff box with two hinged lids. The lids depict mythological scenes and are still in excellent condition.It was owned by Mrs Tattershall of Hayes in Exbourne, a direct descendant of Robert the Bruce. In 1963 she gave it to her gardener, who later passed it on to his son, 'Dartmoor' Dave Denford.
