These photographs are a bit of English political history. They show Lord Boothby and the gangster Ronnie Kray. The owner says they were taken by a local wedding photographer under the direction of Ronnie Kray and that Ronnie intended to use the photographs to blackmail Lord Boothby, as he was supplying him with rent boys.
The photographer was told to print one copy of the photographs and then destroy the negative. However, he destroyed a different set of negatives and secretly printed a new set of photos. The negatives still survive and are now owned by the photographer's wife.
