Dress

Contributed by Radstock Museum

BLACK SILK DRESS. Radstock's connection with the Admiral Lord Nelson comes through the Revd. Horatio Nelson-Ward; Nelson and Lady Hamilton's grandson who, from 1857 until 1888, was the Rector of Radstock. Much loved by his congregation, Nelson-Ward is buried in the church yard at Radstock. This black silk and lace gown was worn by his wife after his death in 1888.
